Pecan Pie Yams

You know what’s wrong with most side dishes? They’re not dessert. If your looking for a last minute dish to finish off the table for your Thanksgiving meal, look no further.


3 Large Yams

1/3 cup of butter

1/2 cup of pecans pieces

3/4 cup of light brown sugar

1 teaspoon of vanilla

1/2 tablespoon of maple syrup

2/3 cup of smashing shortbread cookies

1 pinch of saltIMG_5246



Start by peeling and slicing the yams into 1/2 in pieces, placing in a baking dish. Turn your grill to 350f and cook the yams for 1 1/2 hours or until tender. During the cook, add the rest of the ingredients to a bowl and mix well.IMG_5247 After the yams are done add the pecan pie mixture over the top and place back into the Green Mountain Grill for 20 min. Let cool and enjoy!IMG_5260
